Business Mission to China (Shanghai - Chongqing - Chengdu - Beijing - Hong Kong)
CTT, in partnership with the University of Waterloo (UW), Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU), Conestoga College and potentially other business partners, will be undertaking its first Business Mission to China from May 6-17, 2010. The program that CTT will deliver for Waterloo Region businesses and Waterloo area government officials will be exploratory in nature, with a focus on advanced manufacturing (such as Clean Tech) and related high technology opportunities (such as hardware, software, logistics, digital media and related applications). In China, it will likely be referred to as a Science and Technology (S&T) delegation from Canada’s Technology Triangle (Waterloo Region). This delegation will travel in parallel with our educational partners who will be promoting their educational institutions for student recruitment and to attract training delegations from China. By working together we will be able to attract the highest possible contacts in China and benefit from group rates when traveling and combining our resources when hosting.
On December 7, 2009, Mayor Halloran signed a Friendship Agreement with the Mayor of Chongqing, China, the world’s largest municipality. WLU also has its China office in Chongqing. Thanks to these pioneering efforts of WLU and the City of Waterloo, it will help us to open doors in SW China. We have also developed close relationships with the Canadian Consulate’s offices in Chongqing and we have met several leading officials in the Chongqing and Chengdu region who will help us to make further contacts throughout the region. We are also looking at opportunities in Beijing and Shanghai.
The mission will be attractive to those who are interested in better understanding the economic implications for their organizations and are looking at developing their China strategies for the years ahead. It will especially be of interest to SME’s and larger business organizations interested in making contacts and potential partnerships for two-way business opportunities. In addition, it will also interest businesses who want to in develop long-term relationship building for investment attraction and talent recruitment.
CTT Inc has developed a schedule for two modules: a 7 day program and an 11 day program, and a Hong Kong Option of an additional 3 days which will include further business exploration and a visit to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, John Jung will provide a personal tour of the city and special visits to meet several of his contacts throughout the region, where he has been active for several decades. CTT will combine resources to develop promotional materials, presentations, a delegates brochure, translation/interpreter (where required), and organize appropriate meetings and hosted events throughout China for the delegation and our Chinese contacts.
This mission will be limited in size and targeted in its goals.
If you are interested in any aspect of this program, please contact John Jung, CEO of CTT directly at john@techtriangle.com for more information or to confirm your place on this mission.
