Ian MacNaughton | ChairIan MacNaughton, founding partner and President of MacNaughton, Hermsen, Britton, Clarkson Planning Limited, has practiced planning and resource management since 1968, and founded MHBC in 1973. He has a Masters Degree in Regional Planning and Resource Development from the University of Waterloo and an Honours Degree in Urban and Regional Planning also from the University of Waterloo. Ian’s experience covers a broad range of interests including land development of all types and scales, commercial planning and development, downtown revitalization and economic strategies. He has advised senior levels of government, local municipalities, and the private sector on issues relating to planning and resource management.

John Doherty | Past Chair/SecretaryJohn Doherty is Managing Partner, Waterloo Region office of the national law firm, Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP (Gowlings). John received his law degree from Dalhousie University and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1984. John's practice focuses upon municipal and commercial litigation. Currently, John is actively involved in professional organizations, serving in a leadership role as a Director of the Ontario Expropriation Association where he served as President and continues to contribute to the Association's seminars. John is dedicated and committed to community service having served in many capacities, including: President, Cambridge Volunteer Bureau; Director, United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Director for Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc.; Chair and Director of the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce; Chair, 2003 and 2005 Prosperity Forum; and, Chair, 2003 Citizen's Advisory Committee on Regional Council Compensation. He currently serves as Chair of the Prosperity Council of Waterloo Region.

Helen Jowett | Vice ChairHelen Jowett, Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) is CEO of McDonald-Green, a Human Resource Consulting firm that she founded in 1994. The firm provides recruitment, assessment services, training, career transitioning and consulting to area companies. Helen is a qualified by Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Emotional Inventory Quotient (EQi) representative. Helen is Past Chair of the Cambridge Chamber and the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation. She sits on the Executive Committee of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Prosperity Forum. Helen is a past recipient of the K-W Woman of the Year Award. In April of 2010, the Mayor of Cambridge presented McDonald-Green with an Award of Recognition for Excellence in Workforce Training and Development. She has been honoured with the YWCA Women of Distinction Award in the Education, Training and Professional Development category, the Community Philanthropy Award in the category of Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist awarded by the Waterloo Wellington Fund-Raising Executives, and recently was honoured with the KW Chambers Community Leader of the year. Today Helen enjoys her position on the Board of Governance for Conestoga College and as a Regional Barn Raiser.

Frank Boutzis | TreasurerFrank Boutzis is KPMG’s Regional Managing Partner for the Southwestern Ontario Region, located in the Waterloo office. He has over 27 years of experience working with a broad spectrum of private and public companies. A graduate of McMaster University, Frank qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982. Frank has served in many capacities within the firm including as a member of the KPMG Board of Directors from 1999-2002. Frank has been very active in the community service arena in Hamilton, Kelowna, BC and in Waterloo.
