Investment Opportunities – Waterloo Region – Building a Clean, Green, Sustainable World

by Catharine Gerhard, Business Development Officer, CTT Inc

Ontario’s Green Energy Act represents North America’s most ambitious and far reaching enabling Legislation. This will be instrumental in positioning Ontario as a world leader in renewable energy development, industrial innovation and climate protection. Ontario’s Green Energy and Green Economy Act (GEA) was passed into law on May 14, 2009. In addition, the province has established the first comprehensive Feed-In Tariff Program (FIT) for the energy generated from renewable sources in North America.

Waterloo Region is actively recruiting new cleantech + green manufacturing and assembling, equipments and products, and all related sustainable energy companies to the Region. CTT Inc is providing leadership by initiating business missions in this sector. Waterloo Region companies accompanied CTT Inc in November 2009 on a Business Mission to Germany with a Cleantech focus. Next month we are hosting another mission, this time to China which will include a visit to one of Canadian Solar’s manufacturing facilities. Further missions include travels to the American Wind Energy Conference, Dallas (May 23-26), Intersolar, Munich (June 9-11), and Husum Wind Energy (Sept 21-25). Let us know if you are attending so that we may support you.
