Business Development News
The Business Development Team hopes everyone had a happy and safe Festive Season and are looking forward to a successful 2011.
The year has started with a flurry from ongoing CleanTech investment opportunities, but with renewed interest from Digital Media, Software Development and Food Processing prospects.
Our Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) activities will take us to international locales and “co-opetition” with other Canadian and Ontario municipalities.
A new partnership with C-11 cities from across Canada and Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) will take us to New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Seattle and Los Angeles in Q1.
Stay tuned for updates covering the rest of the year.
Ontario Technology Corridor (OTC) activities find us at Game Developers Conference (GDC) San Francisco in March; GDC Europe in August and the US East Coast in the fall.
Ontario Automotive Community Alliance (OACA) sees us participating with DFAIT and Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA) at the Beijing International Auto Parts Expo in September. We look forward to opportunities from a rapidly strengthening Auto Sector.
Ontario Food Processing sees participation at Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), New Orleans in June and Anuga, Cologne in October.
Finally, the Ontario CleanTech Alliance starts its second year at InterSolar Munich in June, InterSolar San Francisco in July.
These pan regional initiatives allow us to not only partner with like-minded communities but with our partners at Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) and DFAIT as well.
Headquarters and International Marketing Centre (IMC) offices of MEDT as well as Canadian Embassy’s, High Commission’s and Consulates are an integral part of our Investment Attraction Team.
Our collaboration with foreign Consulates and Trade Organizations also allow us to share “What’s in the Water” in Waterloo Region with global prospects.
Canada has a great story to tell in FDI and Integrative Trade. Canada’s Technology Triangle – Waterloo Region is proud to be an integral part of that story.
With strong support from our Municipal and Corporate Partners we look to achieve further win / win investment opportunities for clients and the community.
If you would like more information on how you may participate with our team, don’t hesitate to contact us.
